OUR EXPERTISE

Whether you are looking for technology push or market pull innovations, our story starts with the (end) user in mind and our insatiable drive to build solutions. CONSUMER RESEARCH is key!

To make our solutions tangible, the Centre for Textile Science and Engineering (CTSE) is the backbone of TEX IS MORE supported by many other research departments who have a direct or indirect link with textiles.

We cover the full scope of experience required when it comes to MATERIALS and FUNCTIONALIZATION.

To make sure our solutions bring the relevant level of COMFORT, PROTECTION and CARE we have specialized experience and facilities at our disposal to measure, test and validate these, both related to physical as mental comfort and acceptance.

On top of the technological aspect of our projects, we approach each challenge from a business perspective to make sure your innovations launch in the market successfully.

The Industrial Liaison Network at Ghent University covers our back when it comes to legal and IPR needs and has an extended team servicing the consortium.

The basic element of textiles are fibers. Reason for which we have integrated these in our logo. And whatever fabric that is created, has been created for a purpose. We believe that any textile innovation can be categorized under at least one of the following 3 pillars: protection, comfort and care. In many cases these are interconnected often in a cause-consequence relationship.

Textiles protect not only human beings and animals but by extension also plants and crops.

From a broader perspective textiles can contribute to the protection of nature and hence our planet.

Examples of external (f)actors which textiles can protect against are heat/cold, weather, chemicals, radiation, UV-light,

micro-organisms and impact.

Obtaining the required level of protection, often results in a decrease of comfort. At TEX IS MORE we continuously strive for the right balance between protection and comfort.

In our projects we put a lot of emphasis on thermo-physiological and tactile aspects to achieve the highest level of comfort possible.

In addition we also focus on psychosocial aspects which are as important to achieve the right level of mental comfort i.e. acceptance of the envisaged textile innovation.

Finally, esthetic elements are considered as well as this surely contributes to solutions that are actually used.

One can have the best technological solution in class to solve a problem, if the user is not comfortable (physically and mentally) or does not want to use or wear it, the solution has no value.

By protecting and comforting, you surely care.

At TEX IS MORE we even go one step further and we wish to create solutions that directly contribute to the health and well-being of people, animals and nature. This links a.o. to medical solutions both for patients as for healthcare staff.

Many applications are possible to create a healthier and happier environment to work and live. Health & well-being have become an important focus and concern in nowadays society and people are looking for supporting tools and solutions.

TEX IS MORE really cares.
